The name Yellow Rose Glassworks was inspired by my great grandfather.
Red Nobles was a stained glass artist, square dancing champion, World War II US Navy veteran, and proud Texan who loved making yellow roses for his wife Wanda (they were her favorite.)
Every window in my great grandparents, grandparents, great aunts, uncles, cousins, family friends, neighbors, etc. homes had his art reflecting mesmerizing light and color. Those simple sun-catchers are such a vivid part of my childhood memories.
What was only a casual past time that started in the later years of Papa’s life, sparked a fascination for the rest of mine. :’)
